All licensed hospitals and healthcare providers must maintain and make available a qualified healthcare professional to provide treatment and forensic examinations to sexual assault victims during operating hours

"Qualified healthcare professional" is defined as a physician, sexual assault nurse examiner, or other healthcare practitioner licensed, certified, registered, or otherwise authorized and trained to perform forensic medical examinations

The definition of "healthcare provider" is revised to refer only to facilities and institutions (hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, skilled nursing facilities, hospice facilities, residential treatment centers, diagnostic/laboratory/imaging centers, rehabilitation settings)

Amends R.S. 40:1216.1 governing procedures for survivors of sexually oriented criminal offenses
