Full-time fire protection officers employed by the Lakefront Management Authority would receive $600 per month in state supplemental pay, adding them to the list of eligible fire personnel alongside those at the New Orleans Port Authority, Plaquemines Port Harbor and Terminal District, and Port of South Louisiana

Officers must complete one year of service to qualify, and those hired after March 31, 1986 must also pass NFPA Standard 1001 Firefighter I and II Certification or an LSU-approved training program, plus airport rescue and firefighting certification

Any future increases to supplemental pay for other fire protection officers under existing law would automatically apply to Lakefront Management Authority officers as well

The bill takes effect only if voters approve a related constitutional amendment to Article X, Section 10(A)(1)(b) at a statewide election
