Amends R.S. 9:3251(A) to allow landlords and tenants to mutually agree in writing to extend the security deposit return deadline from 1 month to up to 2 months after lease termination

Current law requires landlords to return security deposits within 1 month after lease ends; the bill maintains this as the default but adds flexibility for written agreements

Extends the same timeline flexibility to the itemized statement landlords must provide when retaining any portion of the deposit for damages or unpaid rent

Landlords may still retain deposit amounts reasonably necessary to remedy tenant defaults or unreasonable wear to the premises

Tenants remain required to provide a forwarding address at lease termination for receipt of deposits or itemized statements
