Disability retirees returning to active service now have their retirement allowance cease based on reaching "regular retirement age" rather than the fixed age of 60, with regular retirement age varying by hire date (age 60-62 depending on when hired)

"Job appointment" definition changed from a fixed two-year maximum to a temporary appointment period set by State Civil Service Commission rules

Retirement benefits exempted from execution now also include an exception for forfeiture due to public corruption crimes, in addition to existing exceptions for child support and certain felony convictions

Administrative error corrections no longer require documentation to be presented at the next board of trustees meeting

Any costs resulting from these changes must be funded through additional employer contributions per the Louisiana Constitution, effective July 1, 2026
