Amends R.S. 11:2178.1(B) to create a new tier for Back-DROP participation in the Sheriffs' Pension and Relief Fund for members with 35 or more years of service

Members with 35+ years of service may select a Back-DROP period of up to 60 months (5 years), compared to the current maximum of 48 months for those with 30+ years

Maintains existing Back-DROP limits: 36 months maximum for members with less than 30 years of service, and 48 months maximum for members with 30-34 years of service

Back-DROP period cannot exceed the number of months of creditable service accrued after the member first became eligible for regular retirement

Becomes effective upon signature by the governor or upon expiration of time for gubernatorial action
