Extends existing rights for home study students to virtual school students, allowing them to participate in extracurricular activities and interscholastic athletics at the public school in their attendance zone

Virtual school students must try out or apply for activities in the same manner, time, and place as students enrolled in the public school

Participating virtual school students must meet the same requirements as enrolled students, including maintaining minimum GPA and complying with disciplinary standards

Prohibits public schools from affiliating with any interscholastic athletic association that denies eligibility to students solely based on their enrollment in a virtual school (including charter schools)

Amends R.S. 17:176.2 to add "virtual school" alongside "approved home study program" throughout the existing statute
