Department of Public Safety and Corrections (Office of State Police) must conduct public awareness campaigns about the dangers and criminal penalties of discharging firearms into the air in prohibited public areas

Public awareness activities include radio, television, and social media announcements, information kits, brochures, and promotion of telephone hotlines

State police must distribute materials to municipal police departments for further public dissemination during specified time periods

Required awareness campaigns must occur annually from May 15 through July 5 and from November 15 through January 1

Funding must come from existing allocations to DPS&C, Louisiana Department of Health, or municipal police departments; collaboration with the Department of Health is permitted
