When territory that previously prohibited alcohol sales through local option election is annexed into a municipality that permits such sales, Class B and Class C retail permits for off-premises alcohol consumption cannot be issued in the annexed area without a new local option election

A local option election must be conducted in the ward or election district where the premises were located prior to annexation to authorize permit issuance

Applies only to Class B (package house) and Class C (package store) retail permits for off-premises consumption

Permits issued before the effective date of this law remain valid and are not invalidated
