Establishes a rebuttable presumption that shared legal and physical custody is in the best interest of the child in divorce proceedings, which can only be overcome by clear and convincing evidence

Requires courts to award shared legal and physical custody to parents jointly when there is no agreement, replacing the previous standard of joint custody

Mandates equal sharing of physical custody and equal allocation of legal authority and decision-making responsibility between parents, unless the court determines this is not feasible or not in the child's best interest

Removes the exception that protected parents caring for a child under age 5 from having income imputed to them for child support calculations when voluntarily unemployed or underemployed

Amends Civil Code Articles 131, 132, and 136(A) and R.S. 9:315.11(A)(1) and 335(A)(1), (2)(b), and (3)
