Criminal history records of employees may only be released by court order directing a law enforcement agency to disseminate the information; removes the prior exception allowing release with written consent of the person being investigated

Eliminates the requirement to destroy employee criminal history records one year after termination of employment

Prohibits employers from sharing copies of criminal history checks with other employers seeking referrals of potential applicants, removing the prior exception for written applicant consent

Requires each employer subject to this section to obtain their own state and national criminal history record check in accordance with R.S. 15:587

Explicitly prohibits redissemination of criminal history record information obtained from the FBI, aligning with 28 CFR Part 20 and FBI Criminal Justice Information Services Security Policy
