Public postsecondary institutions must post the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number "988" on their websites and print it on student identification cards, along with local and state hotline numbers if available.

All entering students (full-time, part-time, undergraduate, graduate, professional, and transfer) must receive information about mental health services, suicide prevention resources, and warning signs through live presentations or interactive formats—not paper-only.

Institutions must provide 24/7 access to mental health professionals focused on reducing student suicides, available on campus or remotely by phone.

Each institution must develop a data collection system for suicide risk assessments, tracking annual totals, demographic information (race, ethnicity, gender), and referrals to mental health services.

All collected data must be aggregated and nonidentifiable to protect individual student privacy.
