LA HB677

Authorizes the Tensas Parish School Board to sell or exchange sixteenth section lands, school indemnity lands, or other immovable property in Tensas Parish when determined no longer needed for school purposes and in the best interest of the school system

Requires the school board to obtain an appraisal from a certified, licensed appraiser and make it available for public inspection before any sale or exchange

Mandates that in any land exchange, the total consideration received by the school board (including value of land received) must be equal to or greater than the value of land being relinquished

Requires the school board to reserve all mineral rights and interests to the state as required by law

Creates an exception to existing law, which currently requires township elections for selling 16th section lands and public auctions for selling indemnity and other school lands
