Establishes a default maximum authorized surface injection pressure (MASIP) for commercial Class II disposal wells at 90% of the fracture gradient for the injection interval

Operators may apply for increased MASIP by demonstrating through verified field data and licensed engineer/geoscientist attestation that higher pressure will not cause fractures through the confining zone

Increased MASIP applications must show: sufficient confining formations within one mile of oil/gas wells, proper casing, sealed penetrations, drinking water monitoring wells, and acceptable historical seismic data within five miles

Approved increased MASIP ranges from 0.4 to 0.5 pounds per square inch per vertical foot based on depth to the top-most perforation

Department must approve or deny increased MASIP applications within 60 days; violations subject to penalties under R.S. 30:18
