Public safety officers remain subject to fire department civil service rules while performing police duties in accordance with police department policies; the chief of police may revoke an officer's authority to perform police duties

Fire chief and police chief must jointly submit dual-role training curriculum to the civil service board within 90 days, with all policy amendments completed within 180 days of the law's effective date

Fire department employees retain their rank, seniority, and promotional eligibility regardless of public safety officer appointment
