Adults under electronic monitoring must bear the costs and provide the monitoring service provider with a guaranteed payment method (cash, credit card, electronic fund transfer, check, etc.)

Monitored persons must maintain equipment in working order, keep devices charged, and cooperate with any technical troubleshooting efforts, which may include reasonable detention by law enforcement

Electronic monitoring service providers may file proof of nonpayment with the court, triggering a 30-day deadline for the monitored person to satisfy outstanding balances through the court's designated intermediary

Courts must issue an arrest warrant for monitored persons who fail to pay within the 30-day period, and may permit providers to remove monitoring devices after that deadline if payment is not recovered

Indigent monitored persons may be placed on a periodic payment plan under existing law (C.Cr.P. Art. 875.1) instead of facing immediate consequences for nonpayment
