Exempts resumes, applications, and identifying information of applicants for executive-level university positions (presidents, chancellors, deans, athletic coaches) from public records until a finalist is officially named by the governing board

Protects the identity of private donors and prospective donors to public universities and affiliated foundations from disclosure, unless the donor provides written consent

Donation amounts and specific uses of donated funds remain subject to public records requests despite donor identity protections

Exempts proprietary research, unpublished data, grant applications, and intellectual property information from disclosure when release would cause competitive disadvantage or allow competitors to use the research

Research exemptions expire once findings are published in peer-reviewed journals, patents are granted, grant periods end, or the institution determines confidentiality is no longer needed; effective August 1, 2026
