Requires all health coverage plans in Louisiana to cover medically necessary treatment for acquired brain injuries (ABI), including cognitive rehabilitation therapy, neurobehavioral therapy, community reintegration services, and post-acute residential treatment

Prohibits lifetime limits or unreasonable annual limits on treatment days/sessions, and bars insurers from denying coverage based solely on treatment location if the setting is clinically appropriate and properly licensed

Mandates that cost-sharing (deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, out-of-pocket limits) cannot exceed those applied to similar benefits under the same plan

Requires adverse coverage determinations to be made by clinical peer reviewers with specialized ABI experience, and establishes an expedited appeals process for denied claims

Applies to new policies issued on or after January 1, 2027, with existing plans required to comply by their renewal date or January 1, 2028 at the latest
