Payroll deduction authorizations for union dues are limited to one year, must be renewed annually and upon any dues increase, and require employer confirmation via email before deductions begin

Employers prohibited from deducting wages for union political activities; labor organizations must establish separate segregated funds for political expenditures with voluntary contributions only

State, parish, city, and school board employers must provide annual written notification to employees of their First Amendment right to refuse union membership and dues payment

Law enforcement and firefighters are exempt; mass transit employers may petition for waivers to maintain Federal Transit Administration funding eligibility
