Creates new crime of unsecured storage of firearms when the owner knows or should reasonably know a minor (under 18) or prohibited person may gain access to the weapon

"Unsecured" means not stored in a locked container or without a tamper-resistant trigger lock properly attached

Exceptions apply when the firearm is carried on the owner's person, obtained through unlawful entry, or when a minor has permission for supervised hunting or recreational shooting

Base penalty is a fine up to $500 and/or up to 6 months imprisonment; enhanced penalty of up to $1,000 fine and/or up to 1 year imprisonment if the violation results in bodily injury
