Prohibits students, faculty, administrative staff, and other employees at elementary or secondary schools from using deepfake material against K-12 students with intent to coerce, harass, intimidate, or maliciously disseminate or sell the material

Defines "deepfake" as audio or visual media in electronic format that is created, altered, or digitally manipulated to falsely appear as an authentic record of someone's speech or conduct, or that replaces an individual's likeness with another person

Exempts material constituting political, public interest, or newsworthy content, including commentary, criticism, satire, parody, or content with clear disclosure that it is not a real event

Directs the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE), in collaboration with the Department of Education, to develop and adopt implementing rules and regulations

Effective August 1, 2026
