Allows possessors of motorboats, houseboats, or sailboats with registration certificates that have lapsed for at least five years to apply for a new certificate of number

Requires applicants to submit an affidavit confirming they have possessed the boat for at least one year immediately preceding the application date

Mandates that applicants provide notice to the last registered certificate holder via certified mail with return receipt requested

Requires copies of the certified mail notice and return receipt to be submitted to the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission along with the affidavit

Effective August 1, 2026
