Bossier City Police Department promotion lists will rank officers by promotional seniority (time in the next lower class) rather than total departmental seniority, aligning with exceptions already granted to Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Crowley police departments

When officers have equal promotional seniority, departmental seniority serves as the tiebreaker for placement on promotion lists and for filling vacancies

Adds two positions to the competitive testing classification for Bossier City: jail superintendent and operations/management/supervision of radio, fire alarm, police alarm, and other signal systems

When an entire class is abolished in the Bossier City Police Department, demoted employees will have priority to positions based on promotional seniority in that class rather than departmental seniority

Effective upon signature by the governor or expiration of time for gubernatorial action
