Exempts nonprofit organizations from Louisiana hospice and home-based service provider licensure requirements if they provide free end-of-life care to terminally ill patients in a home-like setting with no more than 3 private patient bedrooms

Qualifying organizations must provide all accommodations and services at no cost to patients or families and cannot receive payments from Medicare, Medicaid, or any public or private health insurance

Exempted facilities are legally treated as the patient's place of residence for home hospice care purposes, with medications delivered, stored, and administered as in a home setting

Organization-designated caregivers may perform delegated tasks the same as family caregivers in a home setting, and licensed healthcare professionals may delegate tasks according to the patient's plan of care

Licensed healthcare professionals who delegate caregiver tasks in good faith and with reasonable care receive immunity from disciplinary or adverse actions from their licensing boards
