Department of Children and Family Services must report to the Louisiana Department of Health within 72 hours when a child is placed in DCFS custody, and again when a child under 18 is returned to parental custody.

Louisiana Department of Health must immediately review and adjust SNAP, WIC, and FITAP benefits for the parent's household to reflect the change when a child enters state custody.

Children enrolled in Medicaid must receive a new managed care insurance card at their new residence upon placement in DCFS custody.

LDH must assess where a child actually resides and adjust benefits accordingly when receiving an application for a child already included in another household's benefits.

Individuals who fail to report household changes and continue receiving benefits for a child no longer in the home must be referred to the LDH fraud detection unit for investigation and recovery of ineligible benefits.
