LA SB58

Establishes a mandatory minimum sentence of 1 year imprisonment at hard labor for aggravated flight from an officer (up to 10 years maximum), without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence; fines up to $2,000 may also apply

Creates enhanced penalty of 2-15 years at hard labor without parole, probation, or suspension when aggravated flight results in serious bodily injury

Requires insurance proceeds received by defendants charged with aggravated flight to be subject to forfeiture under R.S. 46:1852

Mandates that fines collected from aggravated flight violations be deposited into a dedicated account by parish law enforcement agencies for high-speed pursuit driver training or technology to minimize public risk during police pursuits
