LA SB84

Requires health insurance coverage for prostate cancer screening (digital rectal exam and PSA testing) for men ages 40-49 in accordance with National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines, in addition to existing coverage for men over 50

Eliminates all out-of-pocket costs for cancer screening services, expanding current law that only prohibited deductibles to now include coinsurance, copayments, and similar cost-sharing

Applies to new health coverage plans issued on or after January 1, 2027

Existing plans must conform to new requirements by their renewal date or no later than January 1, 2028

Becomes effective upon the governor's signature
