LA SB90

Creates the Habitual Domestic Violence Offender Registry within the Louisiana Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information for adults convicted of a second or subsequent domestic violence offense on or after August 1, 2027

Requires offenders to register within 3 business days of release, provide detailed personal information (address, employment, vehicle, online identifiers, photograph), and maintain current registration for 10 years

Imposes a $150 registration fee paid to the clerk of court, with funds remitted to the bureau within 7 days

Establishes failure to register as a crime punishable by up to $1,000 fine and/or up to 1 year imprisonment, plus revocation of any outstanding probation

Implementation is contingent on legislative appropriation of funds; effective date August 1, 2026
