Louisiana Senate expresses condolences on the death of George Douglas "Dr. Doug" Brandon, DVM, who passed away on August 24, 2025, at age 81

Dr. Brandon founded Brandon Veterinary Clinic in Leesville, Louisiana in 1977 and operated it for over 48 years

Served as a captain in the United States Army Veterinary Corps at Fort Sam Houston, NAS Corpus Christi, and Fort Polk

Held numerous leadership positions including chairman of Vernon Bank, Vernon Parish District 1 School Board Member, and past president of Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce

Received the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association's Everett D. Besch Distinguished Service Award in 2012
