Food establishments prohibited from automatically providing single-use plastic straws to customers; straws may only be given upon customer request

Single-use plastic straws defined as disposable tubes made predominantly of petroleum-based or biologically-based plastic polymers (such as corn or plant sources)

Non-plastic alternatives explicitly excluded from restrictions, including straws made from paper, pasta, sugar cane, wood, or bamboo

First violation results in written warning; subsequent violations subject to $25 fine per day of non-compliance, capped at $300 annually

Enforcement authority granted to relevant licensing authorities applicable to each food establishment
