Prohibits insurance policies from discontinuing or reducing coverage of a branded drug when an FDA-approved generic equivalent becomes available until the generic has been available in Massachusetts for at least 3 calendar months

Department of Public Health must determine generic availability based on: number and geographic distribution of pharmacies stocking the generic, supply levels relative to disease incidence, and patient access barriers

Defines "equivalent drug" as a generic that has received FDA AB-rated therapeutic equivalence to the branded drug

Amends Chapter 175 of Massachusetts General Laws by adding new Section 47AAA
