Advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) would be authorized to fulfill insurance requirements for diagnostic evaluations, medical necessity determinations, certifications, written orders, prescriptions, and treatment recommendations that currently require a physician

Amends four chapters of Massachusetts insurance law (Chapters 175, 176A, 176B, and 176G) to add identical provisions allowing APRNs to satisfy physician-only requirements for coverage and reimbursement

Modifies Chapter 176O to include APRNs alongside physicians in utilization review and grievance procedures, and changes "treating physician" to "treating provider" in certain contexts

Explicitly states the changes shall not expand the scope of practice for APRNs beyond what is authorized under existing nursing licensure law (Chapter 112, Section 80B)
