Pregnancy would become a qualifying event for special enrollment in health plans through the Massachusetts state health insurance exchange, in addition to existing federal qualifying events

Pregnant individuals may enroll within 30 days following the commencement of pregnancy, provided the pregnancy is certified by a licensed health care provider under Chapter 112 of the General Laws

Coverage becomes effective on the first day of the month in which the pregnancy certification is received
