Newly enrolled full-time students at colleges, universities, or secondary schools must present a medical certificate of meningococcal immunization in accordance with CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommendations

Students may register with proof of immunization provided within 30 days of registration, or with a physician's written certification that immunization would endanger the student's health

Religious exemption allows students to decline immunization by submitting a written statement that vaccination conflicts with their religious beliefs, except during a declared public health emergency or epidemic

Educational institutions are not required to provide the meningococcal vaccine or cover its cost

Department of Public Health is directed to promulgate rules, regulations, and guidance for enforcement of these requirements
