Adopts the Uniform Interstate Depositions and Discovery Act in Massachusetts, allowing parties in out-of-state litigation to obtain subpoenas for depositions, document production, and premises inspections from Massachusetts courts

Establishes a streamlined process where parties submit a foreign subpoena to a Massachusetts clerk of court along with a proposed Massachusetts subpoena, contact information for all parties, and the required filing fee

Permits Massachusetts-licensed attorneys retained by parties in foreign actions to directly issue subpoenas without going through the clerk, provided they have the original or true copy of the foreign subpoena

Requires all subpoenas issued under this section to comply with Rule 45 of the Massachusetts Rules of Civil Procedure, including service requirements and procedures for protective orders or motions to quash

Takes effect January 1, 2026 and applies to discovery requests in cases pending as of that date
