Amends Section 13A of Chapter 265 of the General Laws to expand categories of protected individuals under aggravated assault and battery statutes

Adds protections for public school personnel including teachers, librarians, adjustment counselors, nurses, social workers, and psychologists while performing official duties

Extends protections to registered nurses and licensed practical nurses engaged in their official duties, as well as referees and officials at school athletic events

Maintains existing protections for first responders classified under Group 4 of the state retirement system, pregnant individuals, victims with protective orders, and police dogs

Penalties for violations include up to 5 years in state prison, up to 2½ years in house of correction, fines up to $5,000, or both fine and imprisonment
