Amends Section 58 of Chapter 30 to expand compensation for state employees injured by acts of violence from patients, prisoners, or courtroom incidents to include correctional employees injured during normal duty or assigned duty outside correctional facilities

Employees injured by violence receive the difference between workers' compensation benefits and their regular salary, without the absence being charged against sick leave credits

Applies to absences of any duration, including those less than eight calendar days

Creates a new Section 86 in Chapter 152 establishing a presumption of workers' compensation eligibility for correctional employees injured by acts of violence while on duty
