Establishes a Nursing Workforce Center at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, formerly known as the Nursing Council on Workforce Sustainability

Executive director to be appointed by the UMass Medical School dean, with oversight from the Executive Office of Health and Human Services

Center will gather data, conduct research, and advise policy leaders on current and future nursing workforce needs, including recruitment and retention strategies

Required to prepare annual reports on the state of the nursing workforce and disseminate recommendations to legislative committees, the Department of Public Health, and health care stakeholders

Center will convene stakeholders including nurses, health care providers, educators, legislators, and consumers to collaborate on workforce improvement strategies and promote diversity in the profession
