Requires each municipality to provide and maintain at least 1 automated external defibrillator (AED) at every municipal athletic field, park, and playground

Mandates CPR and AED training for all municipal parks and recreation staff, sports coaches, umpires, referees, and other sports officials participating in athletic events at municipal facilities

Requires all school districts, vocational districts, charter schools, and private schools to maintain at least 1 AED at each school facility and at athletic fields used for school-sponsored events, with a certified AED provider readily available at athletic events

Provides liability protection for school staff members who attempt emergency care in good faith without compensation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct

Schools unable to comply may request a hardship waiver from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, which must also provide public schools with a list of grants and funding sources for AED purchases
