Requires drivers of motor vehicles and motor carrier vehicles on Massachusetts public roadways to make reasonable efforts to remove accumulated ice or snow from the hood, trunk, and roof within 24 hours after snow or ice stops falling

Exempts drivers of motor carrier vehicles, mass transit vehicles, buses, and school buses if they are en route to a facility to remove the ice or snow, or if compliance would violate federal or state workplace safety laws or threaten driver health and safety

Authorizes police officers to stop vehicles on public roadways if they believe accumulated ice or snow may pose a threat to persons or property

Violations are subject to penalties under existing Chapter 85, Section 36 of Massachusetts General Laws
