Courts must send a certified decree of name change to the city or town clerk where a minor's birth occurred within 30 days of granting the petition

City or town clerks must correct, amend, or supplement the minor's birth record within 30 days of receiving the certified decree

Parents of minors who have undergone legal name changes must receive a free certified copy of the updated birth record

Amends Chapter 46, Section 13 and Chapter 210, Section 12 of the Massachusetts General Laws
