Salem's licensing board shall consist of 3 regular members and 1 alternate member, appointed by the mayor with city council confirmation, notwithstanding standard provisions in Chapter 138, Section 4 of the General Laws

Regular board members serve 3-year terms; the initial alternate member serves a 1-year term, with subsequent alternates serving 3-year terms

Alternate members fill in for regular members who are unable to attend board meetings

Current board members continue serving until their term expires or for 3 years, whichever is shorter

Local approval has been received from the Salem mayor and city council for this home rule petition
