Requires the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to provide licensed healthcare facilities with evidence-based best practices for treating sepsis, severe sepsis, and septic shock, including screening tools for adults and pediatric patients, nurse-driven testing protocols, and time-specific treatment goals

Mandates each licensed facility establish a multi-disciplinary committee to implement sepsis policies, procedures, and staff education in accordance with state guidelines

Requires facilities to collect and report quality measures on sepsis recognition and treatment, including adherence rates to sepsis protocols and implementation of all protocol components for adults and children

Mandates staff education on sepsis policies during onboarding, at least annually, and whenever practice guidelines are updated

Department of Public Health must promulgate regulations by September 1, 2025, with the act taking effect October 1, 2025
