MassDOT Division of Highways must conduct a 3-year study on protecting vulnerable habitats, especially wetlands and waterways, along state highways

Study must analyze drainage infrastructure, harmful contaminants from road surfaces and construction in stormwater, and pollution levels in adjacent habitats

Study must identify potential mitigation strategies to reduce and eventually eliminate pollution from state highway drainage

Final report with results and proposed legislative or regulatory changes due to the Legislature by June 30, 2028

Report to be submitted to House and Senate clerks, Joint Committee on Transportation, and Joint Committee on Environment and Natural Resources
