Replaces Chapter 7, Section 3 of the Provincetown Charter to establish new fire department governance structure

Town Manager appoints a Board of Fire Engineers (up to 7 members) for one-year terms; the Board may recommend Fire Chief candidates but the Chief is not required to be a member

Fire Chief responsibilities include fire extinguishment, life and property protection, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) oversight, and coordination with federal, state, county, and neighboring town authorities

Provincetown residents receive hiring preference for all Fire Department positions, whether temporary, permanent, full-time, part-time, or on-call
