Amends Chapter 46, Section 1 of Massachusetts General Laws to update requirements for local clerks recording vital statistics including births, marriages, parentage acknowledgments/adjudications, and deaths

Birth records must include date, place, name, residence, sex of child, and parents' names, names at birth or adoption, places of birth, and dates of birth

Marriage records must include date of record, date and place of marriage, officiant information, and for each party: name, date/place of birth, residence, age, marriage number, previous marital status, and parents' names at birth or adoption

Death records must include date of death, deceased's name (including surname at birth/adoption), gender, race, marital status, education, spouse name, age, residence, occupation, place of death, place of birth, parents' information, cause of death (classified under international standards), and disposition type—but explicitly excludes social security numbers

Declared an emergency law with retroactive effective date of July 1, 2025
