Amends the Town of Avon charter to change the town clerk position from elected to appointed by the select board for 3-year terms

Town clerk duties include: maintaining vital statistics, custodian of town seal and records, administering oaths of office, serving as clerk of town meeting, issuing licenses and permits, and conducting all town elections

Current elected town clerk continues serving until their elected term expires, then automatically becomes the first appointed clerk under the new system

If the current elected clerk leaves office early, the elected position is immediately abolished and filled through the appointment process

Takes effect upon passage
