Westwood's licensing authority may grant licenses for the sale of all alcoholic beverages (not to be drunk on premises) to food stores, expanding beyond the current wine and malt beverage licenses authorized under prior 2008 and 2010 acts

Eligible food stores must be grocery stores or supermarkets with at least 20,000 square feet of retail floor space that sell fresh meats, poultry, dairy, eggs, produce, baked goods, canned goods, and dessert items

Convenience stores, specialty stores, and gas stations are explicitly excluded from eligibility; the select board determines whether an applicant qualifies as a food store

Licenses cannot be transferred to other locations, but may be granted to new applicants at the same or different appropriate location if the applicant demonstrates good standing with the Department of Revenue and Department of Unemployment Assistance

Cancelled, revoked, or unused licenses must be physically returned to the licensing authority, which may then reissue them to new applicants under the same conditions
