Full-time firefighters employed by the State, cities, towns, fire districts, or water districts must receive physician-conducted cancer screenings starting no less than 3 years after employment begins and every 3 years thereafter

Coverage extends to firefighters at Massachusetts Military Reservation, 104th Fighter Wing, Devens fire department, and Massachusetts Port Authority

Required screenings must include, at minimum: colon, lung, bladder, oral, thyroid, skin, blood, breast, cervical, testicular, and prostate cancers (when applicable)

Employer-provided health care plans must cover all screening costs with no co-payments, deductibles, coinsurance, or out-of-pocket expenses for firefighters

Exception allows cost-sharing if a plan governed by the Federal Internal Revenue Code would lose its tax-exempt status by prohibiting such charges
