Full-time firefighters employed by cities, towns, fire/water districts, or the commonwealth must receive physician-conducted neurological disorder screenings starting no less than 3 years after employment begins, then every 3 years throughout their career

Coverage extends to firefighters at Massachusetts Military Reservation, 104th Fighter Wing, Devens fire department, Massachusetts Port Authority, and Barnes Air National Guard Base

Required screenings must include, at minimum: ALS, Alzheimer's disease, brain tumors, cerebral palsy, dementia, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and stroke

Employer-provided health plans must cover all screening costs with no co-payments, deductibles, coinsurance, or out-of-pocket expenses for firefighters

Cost-sharing exception applies only if prohibiting it would cause the health plan to lose federal tax-exempt status under the Internal Revenue Code
