Public stadiums, sports centers, gymnasiums, and other athletic facilities must have at least 1 automated external defibrillator (AED) on premises during sporting events

At least 1 employee or authorized volunteer trained in CPR and AED use (per American Heart Association or Red Cross standards) must be present during all sporting activities

If no trained staff or volunteer is available, facility operators must make public announcements to identify trained volunteers in attendance, including the location of AEDs and procedures for volunteers to identify themselves

Placards with maps showing AED locations must be installed at each public entrance to the facility

School-sponsored athletic events at school gymnasiums are exempt, as they are covered under existing law (Section 54C of Chapter 71)
